How do bookings work during comic conventions?
At events like Romics, Lucca Comics and other conventions I run mini photo sessions for cosplayers. They're shorter (30-45 min) but professional: a focused shoot, iconic poses and atmospheric backdrops.
How does the creative process work for portraits and creative projects?
We start with an introductory consultation where you tell me the emotion or concept you want to express. I study references and create a visual mood board with palette, atmosphere and composition. Together we work on light, shadow and symbols to turn abstract ideas into concrete images. During the shoot I guide you through the emotional direction. In post-production I refine every detail to create compositions that tell a deeper story.
Which services are available for cosplayers, and how do I choose?
I offer three options for different needs. The Basic session is perfect for trying out a new cosplay, refreshing your social media or creating iconic images. The Super session is ideal for building a complete portfolio, entering contests or showing off elaborate costumes. Group Sets (€50 per 30-minute set) are the smart choice if you have several cosplays to photograph in one session or want to organise a set with friends — minimum 3 sets, 4 photos per cosplay. All include a studio or location shoot, professional retouching and a private online gallery.
What does 'artistic post-production' mean for cosplay?
Every shot is professionally retouched: costume colour correction, background clean-up, removal of imperfections, loose threads and glue marks, light optimisation to bring out details (embroidery, armour, textures). Colour balancing to make the character stand out. Every photo is treated individually for professional portfolio results.
How does studio hire work?
Studio hire costs €25/hour. You get the full studio space with coloured and themed backdrops, props and sets, a large air-conditioned room. Advance booking included, so your setup is ready when you arrive. Ideal for cosplayers who want to shoot self-made or with photographer friends while keeping a professional quality. Lights and photographic equipment are NOT included.
Can I use the cosplay photos for contests and social media?
Yes. You receive a private online gallery with downloads optimised for Instagram, Facebook, contests and printing. I only ask for photo credit when you share them (tag @rossella_photoart plus a mention). The photos are yours for personal and promotional use — it showcases the work on both our profiles.
Can I sell the photographs I receive?
The photos are yours for personal use, social media, portfolio and contests. If you want to sell prints, use them commercially (merchandise, books, advertising) or pass them to third parties, commercial rights must be purchased separately. This applies to cosplay, fine art and creative projects. Get in touch for a quote.
